Privacy Policy
Last updated: February 2026
At AfterTaxCalculator.uk, your privacy is fundamentally important to us. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights as a user of our website.
The Most Important Thing: Your Salary Data Is Private
AfterTaxCalculator.uk does not collect, store, or transmit any personal salary data. All tax calculations are performed entirely within your web browser using JavaScript. When you enter your salary and see your take-home pay, that calculation happens on your device — no data is sent to our servers, no data is stored in any database, and no data is shared with any third party.
This means:
- We have no record of what salary you entered
- We cannot see your calculation results
- There is no user account or login to store your data
- Even if our servers were compromised, no salary data could be exposed because we never had it
Cookies We Use
We use a minimal number of cookies for the following purposes:
- Theme Preference Cookie — Stores your choice of light or dark mode so the site remembers your preference. This is a small, functional cookie that contains no personal information.
- Google Analytics Cookies — We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our site in aggregate. These cookies collect anonymous data such as which pages are visited, how long users spend on the site, and which browsers are used. No personally identifiable information is collected.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics (GA4) to collect anonymous, aggregated usage statistics. This helps us understand which calculators are most popular, identify usability issues, and improve the site. Google Analytics uses cookies and may collect your IP address, but we have enabled IP anonymisation so your full IP address is never stored. You can opt out of Google Analytics entirely by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Third-Party Services
We may display advertisements through Google AdSense. Google uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can manage your ad personalisation settings or opt out entirely at Google Ad Settings.
We use Google Fonts to serve the typefaces used on this site. Google Fonts may log your IP address when fonts are loaded. For more information, see Google Fonts Privacy FAQ.
Your Rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, or delete any personal data we hold about you. Since we collect no personal salary data and only use anonymised analytics, there is very little personal data held. However, if you have any concerns, please contact us.
Children's Privacy
Our service is not directed at individuals under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
